FBSU Marks the International Day of Arabic Language
Recognizing the importance of Arabic as the true identity of the nation and under the patronage of HE Prof. Abdallah Malkawi, the University Chancellor, FBSU organized a symposium on the importance and status of Arabic as an international language. The symposium began with a welcome speech by Dr. Salman Balawi, Associate Dean of Student Affairs Deanship, in which he highlighted the importance of Arabic to all Arabs and Muslims. Next student Yazeed Abdulaleem recited some verses from Hafez Ibrahim's poem: 'The Arabic Language Laments its Fate'. Then, Dr. Naif Al-Juhany delivered a speech on "Arabic: Its Importance and Sacredness" in which he spotted light on the genesis of Arabic, its status among the world languages, the interrelationship between Arabic and Arabs, and its sacredness as the language of the Holy Quran.
At the end of the symposium, attended by the University Chancellor Prof. Abdallah Malkawi, faculty members, and a mass of students, Prof. Malkawi presented a shield to Dr. Al-Juhani.
